Information for Broomfield CO Homes For SaleBroomfield CO Homes For Sale:Boulder housing market continues to show strength, and so does Broomfield! – Boulder County continued to be metro Denver’s most valuable housing market in the first six months of 2010, with half the 10 neighborhoods with the highest average resale prices for the period.  The county also had the most $1 million-plus resales for the period, at 63, up from 54 in 2009’s first half.  The area between Boulder and Longmont — the so-called Boulder plains — had the metro area’s highest average sold price in the first half, at $691,619 for 44 sales.  That amount was up nearly 14% from $606,976 during the same period of 2009, when 36 homes were sold.  Looking at other Boulder County cities with highest resale prices, average price rose 5.8% to $425,688 in Superior; 3.57% to $413,521 in Louisville; and 9.77% to $344,627 in Lafayette.  Read full article:^3658201&s=industry&i=resi_real_estate
Fannie Mae gets tough on ‘strategic’ mortgage defaults – Broomfield CO Borrowers who walk away from mortgages they can afford to pay — making “strategic defaults” — are running increasing risks that they’ll be penalized for doing so.  Starting in October, strategic defaulters will be disqualified for new Fannie Mae-backed loans for seven years after their foreclosures.  Fannie also plans to go to court where it can to recoup outstanding mortgage debt from borrowers who strategically default.  Under a bill that’s passed the House and awaits Senate action, the Federal Housing Administration would be barred from insuring mortgages for those who previously ditched a mortgage they had the ability to pay.  Read full article:
